Heart and
History of Brentwood Christian Academy
In 2001, the founders, families, teachers, and board members
of Christian Community Academy, now Brentwood Christian
Academy, desired to begin a program designed to partner with
the family. In the heart of these beginnings, the program
was established to support the integrity of the family while
offering a college preparatory academy whose purpose is to
nurture the whole student, heart and mind, within the
context of a biblical world view to prepare them for lives
of integrity, learning, and service to their communities.
In 2007, the academy grew significantly, and that growth
brought change. However, the quality teaching, the
outstanding student body, and the supportive parents stayed
the same.
The focus and purpose did not change, because all teachers,
founders, board members committed their lives to Christ and
believe that “while we may make our plans, He directs our
steps.”
The Program:
BCA offers academic excellence, maintains a
non-denominational Christ-centered curriculum, and highly
values the God-given uniqueness of each student who attends
BCA. The course of study at BCA is designed to prepare
students for college entrance and achievement. Within this
atmosphere, students are encouraged to explore logical
thinking, analysis, evaluation, problem solving, and group
discussion in a Christian setting, taught by Christian
teachers.
Quality Teachers:
Teachers are valued for their place, not only in the
program, but also for the calling that God has placed on
their lives. The teachers are part of the heart of BCA. The
teachers believe that God created this world to explore, to
learn from, and to understand. For the BCA teacher, this is
not just a job, but a vocation to which he or she is called.
He or she loves the students and the subjects they teach.
Much prayer and searching have gone into finding the
teachers for BCA students.
One of BCA’s greatest strengths is the partnership between
the parents and teachers. The founding members of BCA
realized that experienced teachers helped the families
realize strengths and weaknesses of their students in
specific subject areas. By partnering with these experienced
teachers, they can best serve the needs of the student.
Brentwood Christian Academy seeks to encourage and support
the integrity of the family, which is uniquely designed by
God to nurture children. Thank you for choosing
Brentwood Christian Academy!
Leadership, Christian Tradition, and Goals of
Administration
Brentwood Christian Academy (formerly known as Christian
Community Academy) is a college preparatory program
established in 2001. The academy’s selective admissions
process brings students and families together who desire
excellence in education. Brentwood Christian Academy’s
standards are based upon an unwavering commitment of
providing an atmosphere that promotes academic and spiritual
growth through faith-based learning. Brentwood Christian
Academy’s flexible university schedule of Tuesday/Thursday
classes foster independent learners who are ready for
college and for life.
The tradition to which Brentwood Christian Academy remains
committed to is to recognize God as the source of all truth
and believes that Jesus Christ is the revelation of that
truth. Brentwood Christian Academy challenges students to
engage in service and to prepare their lives for spiritual
growth and giving of themselves. Brentwood Christian Academy
is committed to teach truth as revealed in God’s word
through classes that show that God is the Master Teacher and
through weekly chapel. The Academy encourages each student
to explore scripture, to know Jesus Christ, and to grow in
His image. Brentwood Christian Academy’s academics encourage
students to understand that all knowledge and skills are to
be used to the glory of God.
The primary purpose of Brentwood Christian Academy’s
administration and faculty is to help students develop
disciplined and creative minds for lives of leadership and
service. In fulfilling its purpose, Brentwood Christian
Academy has chosen to be a college preparatory academy,
which provides opportunity for personal relationships
between students and instructors. Further, Brentwood
Christian Academy believes it is vital that all students
know and study under mature and scholarly instructors who
are able and eager to provide outstanding instruction.
Brentwood Christian Academy’s goal is to seek students of
good character and academic ability who share its values and
understand the importance of being other-centered rather
than self-centered. In the selection of faculty, the academy
seeks men and women who respect the purpose of the academy
who are outstanding intellectually and who have a profound
interest in the students. |
